This is an excellent deconstruction of such views. I've yet to watch the video...only because the device I'm reading this with makes it difficult to watch (though until I see it, I'm going to assume it's just like all the other sensationalist anti-Muslim videos and articles out there).

It seems these sensationalist accusations are coming mostly from right-wing nationalist groups from Europe that are concerned with the declining identification with Christianity by Europeans.

Atheism and Agnosticism are probably greater threats to Europes Christian identity, but I see them scapegoating Muslims because currently they are the 'Other', whereas Atheists and Agnostics in Europe still look too much like the Christians to be labeled as different or to be outcast.

I'm not saying this is some kind of religious battle, but I suspect this is one of the key underlying issues motivating and rallying people to this ideology of hate.

I point no further that the front man for all these groups, Geert Wilders, as a prime example of someone for whom this is the underlying issue.

The jump in the UK may not be as large as claimed. But even if it's "only" 300,000 to 2,500,000, that's a huge jump in a mere three decades.
